This started with an Athletic article. Which was really well done. I am sure some of it is sensationalized but the product on the field bears witness to it. Lets just think it was just three short seasons ago they won the Super Bowl. They had a young MVP candidate QB, a hot shot new coach, a GM who assembled a winning team by making a few smart draft picks as well as finding the right free agents. Then it all came crashing down, much quicker that any Super Bowl team ever has now. Now the QB is middle aged and elsewhere. The entire coaching staff including the head coach is gone. The Owner meddles more than any owner outside of Jerry Jones. I mean its disfunction at its worst level. We have all been blaming Howie but my guess is Howie is still here because decisions like Reagor over Jefferson, Hurts in the 2nd round, trading away draft capital for established players were not his solely. I think he is more of a yes man than we know.
The sad thing is this, the disfunction is from wanna be Hollywood elite owner who has nothing better to do with his time than to screw up this football team. Its his prerogative since he owns it, but if he expects the fans to support it his best coarse of action is to step back and get some more football people to make these decision. If me as a self proclaimed draft nut who studies hours of games and uses my own weird formulas (Like never take a hyphenated last name player, they never seem to work out, nothing against them they just don't) to figure out who is going to be good players, then there is no reason why a team of professionals cant get this right more often than not. I do think they have a development issue to. That may have been solved with Siranni and his staff. For everything I read and see these guys are teachers first. That doesn't say that Duce & guys like that were not. But this year we are really going to find out if Howies drafts the last few years were really bad or if it was the coaching. If guys like Reagor, Dilliard, JJaw, Fulgham, Devion Taylor, Avonte Maddox & Hurts take that next step into quality starters in this league, Guys like Driscoll, Watkins, Hightower, Wallace & Epps play a bigger role and show more than the glimpses they shown. Then rightly so a good bit of blame should go on Doug and his staff. I think the answer is inbetween. Still no excuse for Reagor over Jefferson, No excuse for taking Hurts in round 2 who is just a guy at the QB position. Sorry I know a ton of you are excited about him but he doesn't have the arm talent. I am excited to see what Siranni can draw up for him and I hope I am wrong about him but I think he is just the gatekeeper till they try and get another "Franchise QB"

My long winded Birthday rant is over

No doubt the articles are scathing. One can throw some at the feet of the reporters wanting to put out a 'wow' article but there is some fire with that smoke. With all the various reporters who are looking at the birds I tend to believe there is more than a little fire. I posted awhile back that I had heard JJAW pick came down to him being from Stanford which was the choice of Lurie. Of course there is no way to really prove that without Lurie or Howie coming out and saying it. One would think Lurie could look at Snyder's interfering in Wash, esp with RG III, or Look at Jerry's interfering in Dallas and see that interfering doesn't work. Problem is both of those franchises are growing in value as fast as any team in the league. Maybe Jeff thinks interfering will help his team value soar. I think he would be mistaken
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
      Hope is not a strategy

If you drill a coach after every game with a math book you have no business being an owner. Luri can take those analytics and shove'm up his ass.
