The Giants want to play the Eagles, who typically own them, in Week 1

Not sure why New York is so eager to start 0-1.

The New York Giants are apparently hoping to see the Philadelphia Eagles as their Week 1 opponent when the 2021 NFL schedule is officially unveiled this Wednesday.

Some things to unpack here from a silly tweet.
    • Two reasons why the Giants want the Eagles. 1) The Eagles didn’t go all out to beat Washington in Week 17, which would’ve allowed North Jersey to clinch the NFC East. 2) The Eagles traded ahead of the Giants in the 2021 NFL Draft to poach DeVonta Smith.
    • Those are two pretty dumb reasons! On the surface, I get the frustration. But it’s not even like things worked out terribly for the Giants. By not winning the division, the Giants avoided losing to the eventual Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first round and getting the No. 11 pick instead of the No. 20 pick. They didn’t get DeVonta, which sucks for them, but they did get a nice haul from the Chicago Bears to trade down (No. 20, No. 164, 2022 first-round pick, 2022 fourth-round pick). The Giants can potentially use that haul to pivot to a new starting quarterback if/when Daniel Jones fails to establish himself.
    • The Giants are so brave for calling to face a team that went 4-11-1 last year.
    • The Eagles own the Giants! They’re 21-5 against them in their last 26 meetings. Expand the sample size to 42 games and the Eagles are 30-12. Maybe don’t call out the team that has kicked your ass a lot more often than not for some time now?

Dear schedule makers, please do give us Eagles vs. Giants in Week 1. How funny would it be if New York got exactly what they wanted and still lost?

Especially as DeVonta catches four touchdowns in his NFL debut.
    "Hey Giants, who's your Daddy?"

I will tell you something and I'm going to die on this hill.

The Eagles are going to be way better in 2021 than everybody thinks they are going to be unless they get hit with a rash of injuries again.

This team played a ridiculous amount of games in the 2017-2020 span and then had very little time to get ready to go last year and then suffered a ludicrous amount of injuries on the OL. If Brooks, Lane, and Dillard come back and can play and JM is who we think he is. And Hurts is not just a terrible QB they are going to surprise a lot of teams. I'm not saying they will beat the Giants both times. Heck, I think the Giants, Skins, and Cowboys are going to be good too so who knows but we are going to be better.

And I think the QB play will be better and the play calling better and more balanced.
You know Darren if you'd have told me 10 years ago that someday I was going to solve the world's energy problems I'd have said your crazy.... now lets drop this big ball of oil out the window.

finally adding some weapons will make the offense better for sure. we should have been doing that for Wentz. It seems like all teams in the league are starting to get it and are surrounding their QB with more talent.

I'm not really sure about the D, ST's, and new systems and coaches

right now I am thinking 7-10 and 8-9 and nice first year with free agency money and solid draft slots for 2022
