Flat out embarrassment. Even during the years of Ray Rhodes we played Dallas tough. I knew this team wasn't good. But I didn't think Dallas was that good either. In fact they may not be. We may be that bad.

    1. Siranni this starts with him. Now I know a lot are blaming his play calling but its really tough to call a game when your QB played as bad as he did. I saw so many plays that Hurts just missed throws that would have made Siranni look better. I will say this though he didn't run the ball enough and his team doesn't seem prepared. Again tough to tell because the QB was that bad. his team is undisciplined with all the penalties (Much of which were legit but seemed like Dallas got away with a ton more)

    2. Hurts - Pathetic performance. Didn't read the defense, his throws were short (Both INT were short, doesn't matter that Smith fell down, that throw was short) those were just the INT. I counted 10 other times were his throws were either late or short. you can't be indecisive as a QB. He is not sure if he want to run ore if he wants to pass. That is causing all kind of things to be out of sync. He can't run the RPO game. Don't care about the late TD. He just didn't play well. He need to pick it up because his rent check bounced and the landlord is looking for him.

    3. Smith - Bad game. He is having problems with contested catches. That is a huge issue and one I identified would be a problem for him coming out of college. To be a number 1 receiver in this league you have to win those contested catches. The past two drafts we have taken WR in the first round and neither can win a contested catch. Now its early with Smith but so far not so good. He needs to step it up. Reagor on the other hand looks to be a 3rd receiver in this league. Quez Watkins should be starting on the other side of Smith and targeted more than he is.

    4. You all know I don't like Gannons defensive scheme but tonight showed me a few things tonight. I think the issues he is having may be personnel related. He tried a ton of things to stop the run and most of the time the LB were out of position. We know we need linebackers and if you look at the Vikings and Colts defensive where Gannon came from they both had star level linebackers. What we have are replacement level LB. His defensive line is struggling with the hard count. Lots of work to do here. I loved the blitz where Sweat got the sack. I want to see more of that. Again it may be he just doesn't have enough of the players to do that.

    5. Sippos continues to be our best player.

    6. Javon Hargrave has surpassed Fletcher Cox as our best DT. He is splitting double teams and he caused the fumble that Fletch recovered for a TD. Credit the DB's on that play some too, they took away the quick throw and forced Prescott to hold the ball.

    7. Injuries are starting to pile up on this team. Can't continue to lose offensive lineman every year. We are now down to Kelce and Johnson left standing.

    8. I thought Dillard played OK, he got caught upfield and got called for a ticky tackly holding call. The upfield one again could have been an RPO issue. Overall though I don't think he played bad tonight. I think the announcers made it sound like Parsons was so great. The half a sack he got had to do with Hurts not throwing the

    9. Why did it take so long to get Gainwell in to the game? Hurts missed him on one that could have been a long gainer. Then the garage time TD he was targeted a ton. We need to see more of him.

    10. Patrick Johnson got a ton of play time early in the game and I thought he played better than Avery has. Then all of sudden Avery and Wilson were back in the game. Just weird

Overall this is a bad football team that lacks talent all over the place. If the season ended today we would have three picks in the top 10. That goes a long way but they are going to need a few more drafts to rebuild this team. First things first they have to figure out the QB position Hurts has to step it up or its Minshew time in my opion.

I can buy everything you wrote. Miles Sanders had a couple nice runs and then was gone. I posted before the draft the only way the team would be relevant is to get a RB to go along with sanders. Strong run game takes pressure off first year head coach, and first year QB, and allows line time to gel. Still say they need to game plan as a run team and then spring Hurts’ weak arm. DL is fine if back 7 had any real talent. Nelson and Slay are average at best CBs and I have not liked the LBs all year. The real concern back there to me is the confusion. I’m not sure one knows what the other is doing.
agree that Dillard was t a disaster. He actually played fairly well I thought. Really the OL allowed good yardage the few times they ran I thought. And Hurts had time to make many of the throws. He showed some Wentz like ability to hold the
ball and take the sack when out of the tackle box.
    very frustrating game
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
    Hope is not a strategy
    RIP

On Hurts… he gets the season. They have to stop protecting him. He needs to be able to audible and he needs motion. Saw a stat that there were zero plays with pre snap motion. Take the training wheels off. He played bad but give him an entire NFL offense.

On the running game, we need to run more obviously. Why in the world would we only run twice in the first half. And we need a power back plus let’s line up in a power running formation. This team needs to occasionally mix in a FB or H-back. The RPO is too predictable and easy for an athlete like Parsons to blow up with quickness. Run the ball right at him.

the injuries on the OL especially can’t be explained away. This franchise is cursed.

DeVonta Smith had one catch he should have had on the over the middle shot. Have to catch that one. But otherwise he played like a rookie. But he is a tough guy. My opinion of him has not changed one bit. Still love the kid.

the defense needs 2 things… an elite edge rusher and a freakish LB. when they double team both DTs the LBs should be stopping the run game. But Zeke out muscles them.

im not ready to give up on anything. It’s game 3 of a franchise heading in a new direction. Hurts gets the season. Nick gets a pass too.

we potentially will have 3 top 15 picks next year. We are a year or two away but I just think the future is brighter than it seems. We are on the road back. It’s just not gonna be easy and we are going to take our lumps because we are outmanned.
You know Darren if you'd have told me 10 years ago that someday I was going to solve the world's energy problems I'd have said your crazy.... now lets drop this big ball of oil out the window.

Does Siranni offense have pre snap motion? I don't think I have seen it much. You have to wonder if Siranni is not sold on Hurts. Maybe that's why they traded for Minshew? While the team is saying the right things as far as Hurts go and lets face it he is a very likable guy, he just doesn't have the talent. Not sure Minshew does either but at least he has won games in the Pro's. The college QB coming out next year don't look good either. We may be in QB hell for several years. That is why the demise of Wentz and Pederson really screwed this team for years.

Good list Taz. Like AW said, I think Smith is still going to be really good. Diggs was his college teammate and knew him well. They were matched 1 on 1 all night.

I do have one thing to say about Sirianni this morning. He lost my confidence in him last night. What coach in their right mind completely abandons the running game ? The Eagles have some really good RB's. We have all bitched about coaches in the past not running enough. But, not running at all ? Eagles had the ball multiple times in the 3rd quarter down by only 14. There was plenty of time to establish a running game. The Dallas DL is not very good. Their DT's are awful. As a result, Dallas was just teeing off on Hurts and frustrating him. They also game planned to take away his Hurts big runs (heard that on the radio from Dallas insider). What did Sirianni not see that every fan watching the game saw ?

I am OK with Gannon. I think he is going to be a pretty good DC. Despite giving up 41 points, the defense did not lose the game last night. The offense gave Dallas great position all night (and there was the pick 6). Our D was gassed.

My non-Cowboy fans keep saying the Eagles are cursed because of the injuries. I would have started believing that, had we not won a recent SB. Thank God for that.

My gut wanted a QB change last night, only because I hate getting slaughtered by Dallas. But, that would be a bad thing. If Flacco or Minshew come in and win a few games, it puts us in QB hell. It is better to ride out Hurts this year. If he continues to underachieve, we just get a better draft pick. HURTS NEEDS A RUNNING GAME TO HELP HIM. DO YOU HEAR THAT NICK !

          Sorry for the shouting.

Pretty simple really. We got bulldozed at the LOS. And those 3 #1s everybody keeps talking about to improve the team, you can forget about them as they will be used to again to find the Mosiah to get us out of QB hell unless we totally hit bottom and are fortunate enough to have the first pick. We'll probably blow that again too like we did by winning (losing) the OJ Simpson Bowl against Detroit 50 years ago. Thank The Lord we got one to hang our hats on because that's the last one we'll ever see. We're cursed with injuries every year including the last two SBs we went into. Unless somehow Luri hires a GM he can't control we're screwed.

Other than that my only observation of the game that nobody has mentioned is that Dickerson looked just like what he is, a backup NFL rookie.
