  • Same shit different game

D coach needs to go or grow a pair.
Hurts needs to learn to throw on time and not take off so quickly.
Still way to many missed tackles.
O line needs to be able to pass pro without having T/E help all the time.
That is all.. back to your regular chit chat.

if we can't get pressure with the front 4, stop having the corners and safeties so far back. Any smart team with an average QB is going to eat us up

I know we lack talent in so many areas and I know it should be just one year in this situation. but man it is hard to watch

The said thing is that they did drop Epps and Wallace down into the box Dawk. It didn't help much. I think that they sent them a couple of times and got some pressure but that's about it. Unfortunately I didn't tape the game again.

but very rarely did we see press man with 2 corners and both safeties closer than 15 yards back at the same time

yes, we have FINALLY starting to press with one corner. we also FINALLY are allowing one safety to come up a bit. But there are still way too many other soft areas to hit us with easy throws

progress, but painfully slow and still with major holes

I'm confounded by Gannon's tendency to consistently have his players keep everything in front of them, limiting the big play. If I recall, the mantra going into the season was that the DC would play to the strengths of his players. Why not mix it up? Saw what worked in Detroit.

Maybe he doesn't have the horses to run things the way he envisions? I don't' know. Just grasping at straws here...

Bingo, but I think some of the pieces are in place, just not ready yet
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

A new emphasis on the LBs, especially if he plans to have the D-linemen playing two-gap style. Even with hybrid play up front, shifting from one to two gap and back, the LBs are key. They're gonna need DL, LB, CB and Safety. They need help on every level of the defense.

Sweat should continue improving. I think Williams will be good on the DL, as will Taylor at LB. I'm not sure who emerges at safety or CB though.

I think that you can color Gannon gone TP. I think he should take his buddy with him and bring Duce back if he'll come back.

That would be interesting seeing Duce back in Philly if it were to come to pass. As for Gannon, I suspect he'll get another year as will Sirianni. Perhaps they bring in a veteran ex-DC as an advisor. I believe that his entire staff is made up of first-timers. Once he can get more pieces to run his defense as designed, he can be judged more accurately. Same with Sirianni.
