  • Got a chuckle from this Gowton excerpt about the Garner kid

Philly doesn’t lack the ammo to trade up if they really love Gardner. But that might not be the most realistic outcome considering how the Eagles’ defensive system has been cornerback-friendly. Do they really need to sink more premium resources into this position?

First of all what system? Secondly, if it's so easy why would we trade up to get a CB? I'd say that Gannon's whole scheme is user friendly for the offense!

I love Sauce, I also love Booth, I also love Stingley. One of them will be there at 15. No need to trade up. However, would I deal up from 16 and use our 2nd rounder to get up into say the 10 or 11 area if Hamilton falls, yes I would. Get Hamilton and Booth, then trade back from 19 to recoup your 2nd round pick and take a Dotson or Watson etc. I think the Jets might be a prime trade back candidate with 35 & 38.

Use our 2nd to trade up from 15 to grab Hamilton (if he falls if not get one of the DE's)
Use 16 for one of the corners
Use 19 to trade back for 35 & 38 and take a WR (Like Watson or Dotson ) and either a safety like Brisker or a DE like Ebekite at the other spot.

Hamilton, Booth, Watson & Ebekite is a helluva hall. Quite frankly fairly doable.

Roger McCreary is really good I think. Crazy quick feet. I’d be fine with him. He is a starter. Although I don’t think he grades out as well as other top players at his position because he ran a 4.5 and is 5-11. He can just play. If he is there at 51 grab him.
You know Darren if you'd have told me 10 years ago that someday I was going to solve the world's energy problems I'd have said your crazy.... now lets drop this big ball of oil out the window.

Good on McCreary. Really most of the top guys are pretty good. I am not a fan of McDuffie his short arms will. A couple of guys who I think will go much higher than the mocks say they will are Bryant from Cincy and Castro Fields from Penn State productive college players with good measurables. High floor type players, ceiling is the same as say Sauce or Stingly or Booth but they both should be solid NFL starters.

Taz, if you are as down on Hurts as I am how can you use all 3 picks and still be able to move up for a QB next year?

If they hit HRs with this years draft, they have trade capital, If this team is such a shit show like some think, you take advantage of those 3 firsts this year, you have 5 picks in the top 83 or whatever. That happens once every how many years ? They IMO can get 4 starters, maybe even a fifth, that can turn a franchise around rather quickly. A top QB could shake loose from some other team in Free agency

How could they do that, they're all gone? Besides that we have $100 million in dead money so they couldn't pay for him anyway.

Who said anything about moving up to get a QB next year? If they do they can package 2022 and 2023 firsts to do it. They need an injection of youth on this team especially on defense. IF they hit on this years picks they can absorb a deal like that very easily.
Now I wouldn't be surprised if Kenny Pickett is there at 15 that they take him. I personally don't think he will be. I think Pickett, Ridder and Willis are all going top 10.
