Justin Jefferson: I'm going to start 'carrying myself a different way' after signing $140M contract
0:29 No injuries under the broken rear ohh thank God you heard what he said i'm fine no kissing
Former Eagles president Joe Banner made headlines this week with comments about DeVonta Smith’s contract, suggesting the WR needs a new agent given the types of contracts other receivers — like Justin Jefferson, Jaylen Waddle — are getting compared to what he signed. He explained that the young WR should have waited for a bigger payday.
Smith spoke to reporters after Tuesday’s OTA practice, and quickly shut down the notion that he was unhappy in any way about the deal he signed compared to the market — or the future of the market.
The WR was under contract for 2024 and the team exercised his fifth-year option for 2025, plus they signed him to a three-year, $75 million deal with $51 million guaranteed. By doing his deal early, Smith does give up the option to consider what the market is over the next two seasons as the salary caps grows, but he also has some semblance of job security while playing alongside his best friend A.J. Brown for the long-term.

As long as Smith isn’t upset about the future money he might have lost out on, nobody else should really worry themselves about it.

“No, man. No. You can’t be counting the pockets of others. I’m where I want to be. This is where I wanted to be, and at the end of the day, it was still life-changing for me.
I told him not to fix the stairs I knew something like this would happen I can't bear to see him hurt why are you such a discovered idiot Dr can I have this removed
Those guys who have got their deals, they deserve it — great players and great people. At the end of the day, we’re all blessed.”
