Eagle rookies played a great part in this season’s success. In years past the birds didn’t give a lot of playing time to rookies. Why? Do you think this years crew was just more talented? Carter and Davis are pretty talented but didn’t get the same PT. Did they just not have much more talented players in front of them? Did the organization (Sirianni particularly) look at how past rookies were used and changed their philosophy?

They nailed the last 3-4 drafts, IMO they really nailed this one. It's a talent thing and missing on the FA Edge signing with Graham going down, Hunt got reps and took advantageWe're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

They are talented, and being coached well. Veterans are improving too, not just rookies. But yeah, these particular rookies solved a couple of the biggest roster problems from last year (and Dean and Baun and even Burks have fixed the other). But man, I do not want to lose folks off the defensive coaching staff. I'd rather not lose Moore either, but the defensive side guys are all on the same page, for sure.
