he's saying we are trading for Fred Johnson

Source confirms the Eagles are bringing back their backup tackle Fred Johnson. They are trading for him with the Jaguars giving up a late round draft pick next year. The Eagles needed to make sure they had a backup OT.

    Howie does what's needed
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

Big Fred is back! 7th rounder. I like it.

Fred signed a one year deal for $1m. We couldn’t have done that during the offseason to avoid having to give up a pick?

Are you freaking kidding me fly??? He really left for only $1 million. That's got to be a mistake. There had to be some bonus money or something involved there

Good pickup. We don’t need a seventh round pick and Stout clearly saw the need because those other guys just weren’t cutting it.
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
          Hope is not a strategy

I don’t disagree that Fred is a good pick-up. I just think we should have re-signed him in the offseason. A 7th rounder is a lottery ticket, but we have consistently found gems late in the draft and in FA. Good thing about Howie is he is not afraid to admit mistakes. Letting Fred go was a (small) mistake, and he fixed it.

I think Fred wanted a chance to start and bet on himself a bit so he moved to Jacksonville a team that is sorely in need of a RT. And then when it didn't work out my guess is he had no issue with coming back here.
You know Darren if you'd have told me 10 years ago that someday I was going to solve the world's energy problems I'd have said your crazy.... now lets drop this big ball of oil out the window.

                That sounds about right AW.
