  • Cowboys "great" defense?

This didn't get much response on the board of which we do not speak so I'll try it out here.

THERE IS SOMETHING I REALLY, REALLY DON'T GET:

Didn't we put up 38 (with one INT return TD) and then 23 on the Boys last year?
Didn't the Saints score 40+ and it could have been more if I recall. How did that happen vs that "great" defense?
The Falcons put up 28 on them.
And then didn't the Cowboys still have a chance to win the division and let the lowly Lions score 39 on them?
So their last 6 games that have counted, their D gave up 20, 42, 28, 23, 39, and 21 points?

    All of a sudden they are a great D because of . . .
    Wade Phillips?
    Anthony Spencer?

    Please explain.
    Canada's #1 Eagles fan.

You're forgetting that Jacques Reeves is not starting in place of Terence Newman. Reeves is a god, and Newman was clearly the weakest link in that defense. This was the move that will take them to greatness. They just have to hope that Newman doesn't get healthy again so he never returns to the starting line-up.

the Cowboys are wildly overrated, and no segment of their team is as overrated as their defense.

DeMarcus Ware brings it, and must be accounted for. Newman, when healthy, is a good corner. But he's not healthy now.

The rest of them are nothing special.
Don't kid yourself Jimmy. If a cow ever got the chance, he'd kill you and everyone you cared about!

Dude, you just don't get it. Dallas rules! Stop questioning it!

Heck, even Golic is picking the Pukes to get to the SB.

I think that they are a playoff team, but nothing more.

They're not even a playoff team. The inevitable disintegration of the Cowboys media bandwagon is the (Non-Eagles) football event I'm most looking forward to this year.
The definition of insanity is to continually repeat the same action and expect different results.

Thus the Redskins and their fans are, by definition, insane.

I certainly hope that you are right, but I can see them as 9-7 and a wild card.
