  • Dawk on 950 WPEN

    Dawk has a regular interview Monday mornings on 950 at 7:30 AM and here is the link for the podcast of yesterday's interview:

    Several interesting comments, but one stuck out to me on the McNabb situation and whether or not the team i.e. locker room has McNabb's back, sees him as a leader etc. Dawk stated very clearly people who believe McNabb is not supported or not a leader are full of crap. Listen to the podcast for his exact words.

    Dawk also has a show broadcast on 950 Monday nights at Finnegan's Wake (3rd and Spring Garden) for those interested. I went down last week and finally got to meet him. It was awesome.

      How long before someone claims that he wasnt being truthful and the only reason Dawk said that is because he is a real 'team player' and just trying to smooth things over?

        Add this quote from Westy and I think we can surmise a bit that the players were already in their "circle the wagons" mode long before Sundays game...............
        //////////////////////////////
        Quote:
        Westbrook, whose 221 total yards were a career high, told reporters: "Donovan took some shots this week, and we rallied behind him. We told him that we had his back, and any shots he was taking we are going to take together as a team. Donovan has been the lightning rod basically his whole career. When he goes out and has success like he did today, all that stuff is going to disappear. The things that we were able to do today, that's the Donovan we know, that's the Donovan that we want to see every week."

        ////////////////////////////////////////////////

        IMO, It's also nice to notice that the players certainly understand what they have and have had in McNabb for years, it's a shame that some fans don't and/or can't have that same appreciation. Those are the guys that know how hard he is trying,(not message board posters) those are the guys that know just how tough the game is and those are the guys that know how good he really is!!!!!!!!!!

        (Thanks WC, I borrowed your quote from another thread, hope that is ok)

          McNabb still needs to be booed. (1) How many championships have we won? (2) McNabb won't admit it when he's had a bad game.

              I don't care what McNabb says as long as he plays well. And now that he is playing without the brace, I think he will play well. I don't expect 56 points a game. As long as we get 20-30 points a game, I think we'll be fine. I also hope Marty continues to call the plays. I can tell when Marty calls the plays. McNabb has time to read the defense and audible when Marty calls the plays. I think having that time before the snap really helps him. It would help any good QB.

                I can tell when Reid calls the plays because they are the bad plays and the games we lose, except for the ones that we win - then Reid just had nothing to do with it.
