Re: Brett Favre -- such a tease
I'd take a page out of Reid's handbook and state publicly Favre will not be traded unless the Packers are "blown out of the water" with an offer i.e. something like 3 1st round picks.
Privately, I would tell Favre and his agent to STFU, file the retirement papers and buy some tissues at the local Rite Aid.
Enough is enough.Eliminate distractions, create energy, fear nothing, and attack everything.

Re: Brett Favre -- such a tease
I really am beginning to hate the guy as much as I hate Michael Irvin. Talk about a selfish asshole who puts himself before the team! Even in retirement he has to have a spotlight! It'll be interesting to see what would happen if the Packers told him that they will not start him other than in the case of injuries to the 1st and 2nd string QBs and they will not accept anything short of two 1st round picks for him in a trade. My guess is that "God" would take them to court to try to force a trade. If I'm a sports writer at this point I would vote AGAINST him goig to the HOF simply because he's an asshole!Official Driver of the Eagles Bandwagon!!!

I'm as ready to be a Favre basher as anyone, But if you examine this article, it's NOTHING. Yeah, he was asked if he would come back of Rodgers was injurd and the Pack called on him. What would you expect him to say? Screw the Pack and the Pack faithful? He was baited into giving that type of response. He said right now, no, he's not coming back. End of story. But the media will TRY to make it a story. Ugh...........http://shop.cafepress.com/content/global/img/spacer.gifOK, let's try this again...

Re: Brett Favre -- such a tease
Gotta agree with you FRESH. Look, Favre and Favre talk has to go away but everyone knows he likes attention and the talk surely won't go away during my lifetime-- or until Madden retires. But this isn't anything. He was led down the path with the questions. Didn't say he was looking to be able to come back.
Now, not filing the papers may be something but this article isn't. Maybe there is some contract issue or money as to why he hasn't filed the papers. Maybe he signed his first contract in June or July and waiting until this June or July gives him another active year of service for pension. I'm just making that up and have no idea if it is true but it is certainly a possible reason. Maybe the knucklehead reporter should have asked him why he hasn't instead of just throwing it out there.Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
Hope is not a strategy

Re: Brett Favre -- such a tease
i think it's the attention whore thing that irritates me most about Favre. he's always been lionized as this regular guy who loves his farm down in Mississippi and doesn't give a hoot about fame and fortune.
i think that's hogwash, and his little tease here is further proof that he just can't walk away from the spotlight.
he reminds me of John Kruk a little bit. In his playing days, Kruk had very much the same image and I always remember reading stories about how when he retired he was going to go home to West Virginia and nobody would ever hear from him again. And yet, here he is on Baseball Tonight every night.Don't kid yourself Jimmy. If a cow ever got the chance, he'd kill you and everyone you cared about!
