  • slightly OT, but I got to watch a football game lastnight

The fires have been stoked, now I'm really looking forward to the season. Went to Manheim lastnight as my son was picked for the Tri-County Allstar Game(Lebanon,Lancaster and Berks). There was ZERO defense on either side and it ended up 46-43 as both teams scored in the final 2 minutes, but it was football none the same and probably the last time to see my oldest son play. For him it was a classic small fish in a big pond deal. He might have been average size on his team, but he's Desean Jackson(5'8 175) size playing MLB and by my guesstimation there were only 5 kids smaller on his team and they were Wrs .He made Dad proud though as he played on KO, Punt and alternated series at MLB and managed 8 tackles.
One side note for PSU fans, David Soldner the Placekicker recruit had a horrible game . His kicks were all over the place. He missed Xpoints and FGs and his kicks only made it inside the 10.
all in all a great time, and I can't wait for the Birds to roll into Training camp.
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.
