  • the ever humble, TO

The Cowboys have dominated the NFC with 1 division title since TO got there? Hey, how many playoff games has Dallas won since TO got there? TO has what, 6 playoff receptions with Dallas?

Let's dismiss the Eagles domination of the NFC EAST before TO got there...

    This article is hilarious.

    ---

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3582112

Terrell Owens -- wearing one of his custom T-shirts that said "iLove" on the front and "Me some me" on the back -- spoke in the Cowboys' locker room Thursday, often about Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb and the reasons for their failed relationship.

"I will say that Donovan made me a better receiver in Philadelphia, but I think Donovan would have a hard time admitting I made him a better quarterback," he said.

Owens also suggested their problems were the result of McNabb being insecure about Owens' popularity surpassing that of the quarterback, saying, "I remember being in that stadium and hearing them chanting my name, and that couldn't bode well for Donovan."

Owens said he has a unique relationship with the Cowboys' Tony Romo because the quarterback "gets me" in a way none of the others ever did.

Owens also said he honestly does not believe what happened in Philly was his fault.

Owens says in many ways he still feels like a kid from a small town in Alabama with something to prove.

When asked about how it seemed Philly dominated the NFC East when he was an Eagle much as Cowboys are doing now, Owens suggested it was largely because he had changed teams. "The common denominator was me being in both places but I will let you make that assessment," he said.

In his conference call with the Dallas media, Eagles coach Andy Reid said he was pleased with Owens' turnaround, even though it has occurred with a division rival, and called T.O. "a guy who will go down as one of the greatest ever to play the position."

    Dear Santa:

Could you please let Terrell Owens break free over the middle a la Steven Jackson and/or Reggie Bush so I can play with him.

What an egomaniac. Man would I love to see BDawk drill him. I do think there is some truth to both Mcnabb and Owens having huge egos and Mcnabb not liking Owens popularity. I don't put the blame squarely on Owens, though I would say he probably was the culprit of the problems...but Mcnabb did little to make the situation better. Is it possible we don't have high profile more arrogant receivers because Mcnabb has trouble with playing with that type of player, and prefers the Thrash's, Baskett's, and Pinkston's of the world? I'm not saying that is the case, only wondering...I guess it is all water under the bridge now anyway.

kksb, i don't buy that McNabb doesn't want WRs with personality. McNabb was a huge reason TO came here in the first place and has repeatedly said in the media (at least a couple times) that it would be nice to have a playmaker at WR (i'm paraphrasing here).

i can't imagine what kind of career mcnabb would have if he would have had some better WRs here throughout his tenure. i also don't think owens made mcnabb better ... just that having a true stud WR showed people what mcnabb was capable of.

Your objective speculation on McNabb's hidden motives is quite impressive! Really commendable, in view of your general disregard for him. How do you manage so effectively to keep your anti-McNabb bias from coloring your perspective?

And you are absolutely correct about McNabb's strong desire to have only mediocre receivers as targets. Otherwise, he wouldn't have opposed so strongly Reid's pursuit of Owens when he left the 49er's. He also made clear his desire that the Birds avoid signing any top tier receivers during the off season when he publicly challenged the FO by saying, "Don't bring in any more weapons on offense. We have more than we need now!"

Your act has really grown tiresome!

the reason this offense doesn't have high level receivers is because high level receivers want to be thrown to 12 to 15 times a game and in the WCO that doesn't happen.

              think about it.

jerry rice is the exception to this rule.

the seahawks run the WCO and have no star.

the packers do to and donald driver is very good but not great. freeman was good for a few years

the eagles have had a lot of 60 to 70 catch guys but nobody that is ridiculous and that was what terrell wanted

You're hilarious man. Do you do standup?

McNabb was so threatened by TO's success that he literally force fed him the ball in 2005 after TO had already thrown McNabb under the bus.

How can you say McNabb has a huge ego? Confidence, yes, but you would be hard pressed to find a more humble pro athlete.

The real reason things didn't work out for TO here (or SF for that matter) was because McNabb (and Garcia) had the balls to get in TO's face when it was warranted. Gomer Pyle is to much of a wet bag to get in TO's face and call him out, thus their relationship works.

Good points. OK, I do agree with all of you that Mcnabb did want Owens here, so it is not that Mcnabb can't work with flashy, arrogant receivers. And to go back to my post, I was just asking the question, I never made a statement saying it was so. I think this post above is the real reason - because the WCO spreads the ball around so much you need unselfish players..

I'll bet there aren't many people who could even come up with that question. There are some people who have issues with McNabb's play, especially in previous years. But for you to come up with a question like that indicates to me that your issues with McNabb are a lot more personal. I won't speculate on your reasons for having such a negative view of his character. But it appears to me that you have an agenda that might not coincide with the best interests of the team.

Now wait a minute....Owens says all the issues derived from McNabb's insecurity and his reaction to Owen's popularity??

                          LMFAO!!

Is that why Owens cursed out Childress?

Is that why Owens demanded more $$ one year into a contract?

Is that why he put himself over the team?

Is that why he put knives in several teammates backs and bailed on the team?

Is that why he was doing push-ups in his driveway?

Classic....what a fucking moronic tool re-writing history once again

If I was McNabb asked about Owens comments, I would say "Next question" like he did in 2006. That was hilarious.
