  • Two questions, one about Eagles, one about the Cowgirls

Do the Eagles pull it together and soundly beat the Falcons? I say we win, but look about as good as we did against the Niners. If Brown and Curtis are both back, McNabb has more weapons, but for the life of me, I think that AR and Marty M will outthink themselves, trying to figure out fancy ways to get the ball to Curtis, Brown, Westy or DJax, or worse, that our running game will still be hit-or-miss, and we'll be stuck in 2nd- or 3rd-and long. I don't think that the Falcons are slouches either. Well, it's after the bye, they've had time to heal some guys up and iron out a few kinks, and I think we pull off the win, but it's a close one, and we're still hoping for the team to get better afterward.

Think that the Cowgirls will risk injuring Tony "Goober Pyle" Romo against Tampa Bay? I say yes. I don't think that they want to fall to 4-4 with a lot of tough NFC East games still left on their schedule. I think they know that Jeff Garcia might hit 70-75% of his passes against their secondary, and I'll bet that Wade Phillips pushes the desperation button, and they risk Romo's health by trying to beat Tampa Bay in a shootout.

If #36 is healthy we stomp them.
If #36 is hobbled and plays 1/2 the snaps. We barely win. Again.

People fail to realize that we beat the Bears and Redskins if Westbrook is 100%. He's that freaking important.

        Question 1: The Eagles-
I think we kill Atlanta with or without Westbrook being 100%. This team has underachieved and has gotten very lucky in sitting at home watching the Pukes loss yesterday I think - no make that hope!- they understand that they are getting a second chance to put themselves in a position to make a run at the playoffs. Dallas has fallen apart and the Giants seem to be coming back to earth. Yes they beat the Niners but they looked like mere mortals again. Eli is his old bumbling self again and hit for roughly 50% of his passes and ended with 160 yards and a TD against a San Fran defense that ranks in the bottom 25% of the league. If the Eagles have any motivation, heart and brains they'll take advantage of a golden opportunity to get back in the running for a shot at a wild card. They are playing at home, coming off of a bye week and facing one of the weaker defenses in the league. Even though the Falcons were off yesterday the Eagles are a better team and should be able to control the game. If they can't dominate the Falcons this week then they should begin the rebuilding process now.

        Question 2: The Cokeboys-
I doubt that Jer-ah will allow Romo to play this week. As long as he's out there's a built in excuse for any games they lose and the bottom line here is that Jerry needs the season to end with a lot of excitement and hope in order to fill that new billion dollar stadium. If Romo gets hurt and is out for the season then he's taking a big chance on losing ticket sales for the new billion dollar cow pie. I don't see him risking ticket and luxury box sales (especially with PSL prices in the $150 G range ) by bringing Romo back a couple of weeks early to avoid falling too far behind. The girls looked like they lost heart yesterday and they need a kick in the ass and smack in the face. Johnson should be able to handle Tampa at home -- at least enough to give them a chance to win.

Question 1: The Eagles will beat Atlanta this week but it won't be easy.I think Atlanta will try to pound the ball and protect Ryan from the Jim Johnson Blitz schemes. David Akers will miss another long field goal. Westbrook will be back but not at 100%. He will be used more as a decoy than anything

Question 2: The Cowgirls are decimated with injuries right now, and even when they are healthy they couldn't stop my grandmother from scoring 24 points.

It depends on which team shows up, either the one from the first 2 games or the one from the Pitts/SF games or the one from the Chicago & Washington games.

That depends on getting some of our injured players back and being more consistent in all 3 phases.

The Eagles are 9-0 after the bye under Reid so the team obviously knows how important it is to hit the ground running after the break.

If we get Curtis, Brown & Westbrook back, the offense should be better and the defense/ST have had extra time to shore up the weak spots.

Atlanta is playing very well and is no slouch. There are no easy wins in the NFL, but I expect the Eagles to win. By how much is of no importance to me--a win is a win.

I hope they do! Tampa has a strong defense and I would love to see Romo get drilled all night by them. Dallas's OL was terrible again yesterday. You raise a good point about compensating for their defense, but I tend to agree they will sit Romo again since Tampa does not have a lights out offense and they figure they can keep it close. 4-4 is not the end of the world and they have an easier game after Tampa to bring Romo back into the flow.

Michael Turner is the key for that team. If we stop or at least keep in check and not break any long runs, our chances for winning go up dramatically. As good as Ryan is, if he didn't have a running game making his life easier, he'd be considered a bust.

LT you need to work on your spelling man. That's terrible - in fact it could be the worse spelling I've ever seen. Maybe I can help... D-A-L-L-A-S Sucks. See it's not that hard to spell it properly!

Re: Two questions, one about Eagles, one about the Cowgirls

Q1: I would try to use Westbrook mostly as a decoy this game. And I'd try to get Backhalter in the game as much as possible. If we go with Curtis and Brown as the starters, I expect them to be a little rusty. Considering that, I don't expect more than 20-23 points from the offense.

I think we have enough film on their QB that we can figure out how to force him to make mistakes. And they have had an extra week to go over that film. Shame on us if we can't hold them to less than 20 points.

in summary, I expect a close game because Curtis and Brown will be rusty, and Westbrook won't be user-used.

Q2: I think Dallas's best chance is to hang in there and hope to get healthy at the end of the year. I think it would be foolish to give Romo practice time much less playing time. But I don't think it is wise to bet on Dallas acting in their own best interest when things start going wrong.
