  • in a nutshell

Last play of the game, missing a touchdown by a foot,
this really epitomizes the Eagles' season.
    Close but not good enough.

Get some more talent at WR Andy, we need it.

exactly. everything is wonderful so long as we're playing the browns, or cardinals, or rams ... when we need a true playmaker at WR at the end of the season though, we've got no one. A pass happy offense with a bunch of good #3s.

It also summed up what is wrong with Andy Reid and Donovan Mcnabb. No urgency, especially in the 2 minute drill. Should have had way more time left at the end.

Gotta complain about going so pass-heavy when we're still within 7 points. Would've made just a couple of those earlier 3rd downs a little easier IMO. Offense looked inept all right, but DMac's deep throws were on target. Not that they deserved to win, but it would've been good to have one of those back.

          Leme count the ways:

-No runs in the second half to speak of
          -Buckhalter clearly a forgotten man
-Two key drops by the "sensational" rookie
-Dropped pick by our ballyhooed FA pickup
          -3 straight 3-and-outs
-no urgency near the nend of the game - needed to get one more play of before the 2 minute warning
-dumb route by reggie brown to end the game and an even dumber throw by donovan
-end result - 3 pts against the skins in a game we needed ... maybe we were lucky to tie the bengals ... they beat the skins and we lost to the skins twice

Note to Andy: mixing the run and the pas = winning football. throwing the ball 80% of the time = losing football. you make the call. although if you haven't figured it out yet, maybe someone lese should get a shot.

            1) wasted timeout a couple minutes into the third quarter
            2) LJ doesn't know enough about football to get out of bounds
            3) DJ drops pass in endzone (I will not blame him for the other drop along the sidelines as the pass made him contort too much.)
            4) Our best WR is a rookie
            5) why do we continue to try to get LJ touches when it usually ends up with nothing.

              Cause a 2 yard pass on 3rd & 7 is where it's at.

Like I said in the other thread if Reggie Brown takes another stride before making his break it's a perfect pass into the endzone. That play was not McNabb's fault.

                  I would say:

moronic route run by Reggie Brown. You gotta throw INTO the endzone but I guess McNabb can't really see that amount of yardage downfield although I think with no TOs you really gotta make sure you throw deeper.

                  Whatever, we suck.

Reggie had to jump to make the catch, so you figure another yard deeper and the ball would probably be right in the stomach.

McNabb released the ball before Reggie made his break.

I can't blame it on McNabb. When he released the ball, he was probably 100% sure Brown would be in the end zone when it got there.

ok, i've simmered down and agree. mcnabb didn't have a good game, but he did make the throws late ... to reggie, and the two drops by desean, esp the second. when will he learn to throw a 3 yard dump pass accurately?

Whatever happened to our vaunted screen passes?

We used to run like 5 of those a game.

our rocket-armed qb has trouble throwing 3-yard dumpoffs ... i mean seriously how easy should that be to fix?
