The Eagles gave up on the run in the 2nd half today,
    once again.

But what is ironic is that, on their last series with
the game on the line & 3:40 left ,Reid/MM dial up a running play
that gains two yards. Extra stupid. If the extra time spent on that one
token meaningless run was available, we probably have enough
time for one more play after Brown's short-of-the-goal catch.

As much as I wish Andy would run it more, the pass was definitely there. Seven drops is just unacceptable (8 if you count Samuel's.)
Whatcha Gonna Do Brother, When the Eagles run wild on you?

Fresh, it seems the Eagles were destined to lose this game.
They came out flat, with no offense and sat back and watched
the time slip by even though they could have seized the game
with a few plays. The defense missed opportunities for turnovers.
Jackson dropped the game-tying TD. It was just a reflection
of their season. Mediocre but not good enough. And Donovan
reverted back to the inconsistent QB with a key turnover and
a lot of worm-killing throws. Although I must admit our WRs also
really sucked today with 7 dropped passes, 4 by Jackson.

Let's just beat the Cowdogs and end the season on a positive note.

Only thing left to root for. Oakland might still beat TB. But I doubt it.

I guess there's a faint glimmer of hope.
But the Eagles really don't deserve to make
the playoffs. Our offense can't stand up to
a good defense and that's on the coaches
              and the lack of talent.

They did fine against the Giants, both games.

They just came out flat today.

I am not sure I can watch one more effort like today without my head exploding.

Yes, I made a sweeping generalization but that's only one good defense.
What about Washington? Chicago, Dallas, Baltimore, Cincinnati(?)

The Eagles were flat the entire game, no fire from the offense, 3 f'ing point, nothing.

I agree, and I know most will want to blame Reid for "not having them ready", but frankly IMO this is all on the players. They sleep walked almost an entire game. They all knew what was at stake, and the O played like crap. How many drops did they have? LJ dropped 2 easy ones, Jackson dropped 2 long ones, Mcnabb held the ball too long several times.... and they all knew what was at stake.

For once I gotta agree with you MD. Execution killed the Eagles today. 7 drops was unacceptable.

Agree with your point, execution was really poor on offense.
Offensive players were not on today, even Westy seemed to be off.
Not sure why these guys were not focused but its not Reid's fault.
Too bad, because our defense played well enough to win.

That said, there was some really predictable play calling in the 2nd half that really didn't work out. Reid & MM abandoned the run and we paid the price, with dropped passes and a sack with a fumble to set up the only TD.
Passing 80% of the time has its drawbacks and turnovers are the #1 problem as evidenced in this game.

As has been said many many many times, when Donovan and the passing offense is not in it's rythm, it's a great thing to be able to fall back on a running attack. Donovan is not always going to be sharp, and cold windy days are going to make playing pass and catch more difficult. A good coach / GM prepares for this with a proper roster, and game plan. We did neither, and we lost. Again. Other than the early quick points, this looked like a replay of our offense againt the Skins from a couple months ago. Nothing has changed. When you only have one dimension, its easy to stop.
