  • Nice idea on draft day

I got this from Spad's daily stuff:

Westbrook 36 has a plan for the Eagles to move up into the top 5 of the draft and shock the world. "I believe when you have a chance to get a special player at WR, especially in a WC offense you do it providing you don't give up too much. In looking at the draft point values it appears we can move up to 4 to get Crabtree by giving up our 1st round pick this year (21), our second round pick this year and our 1st next year. This still leaves us with a 1st this year. I say get Crabtree with the 4th, get the TE Pettigrew with the other 1st and pick up that big back out of Liberty in the 3rd round Jennings."

I would rather use both 1sts this year than give up one next year.

That's all fine and dandy as long as Crabtree becomes the next Larry Fitzgerald. If he busts, you are majorly f'cked.

Way too much for an unproven player.

I like but don't love Crabtree.

I watched a lot of Big 12 football this year. Crabtree has great size, but does not have breakaway speed. He's playing in the most ridiculous pass first offense since Andre Ware's Houston Cougars and had the perfect QB throwing him the rock for two years.

I'd rather the Eagles try and use a #1 and #3 to move up about 6-7 slots to around 15 and look for a OT replacement. The second #1 I'd use on a Safety. The #2 I'd use on a Center. Look to FA for a RB.

          Not glamourous at all.

That sounds pretty good to me. You could get a decent RB in round 3/4. Sign Housh, maybe trade for Gonzalez.

All these guys won't matter if we don't get the o-line fixed.

that is not enough to move up to the 4th pick overall.
You know Darren if you'd have told me 10 years ago that someday I was going to solve the world's energy problems I'd have said your crazy.... now lets drop this big ball of oil out the window.

You can't go three rounds without addressing o-line.

Why? It's not like the O line has been neglected the past few years. Andrews will be back, and if you're worried about LT, forget about it. Tra still has a few years left.

THE OT's are gonna be key to where we are going into the draft.Just a hunch but I guess we keep Tra and say goodbye to the Warrior Runyan, who IMO should retire. He's set financially & at 35 has the rest of his life to consider healthwise.
IMO we can't count on King Dunlap at LT.Here's a guy with great size and played ball at a major college program,Auburn. So why in the hell did he last until the 7th rd? Gotta be something there the scouts didn't like.
With the #28 pick in rd #1 I'd go OT(Btitton,Loadholt,BPA at RT) after we took Pettigrew at #21.Alot of talk where this guy will land but if there at #21 we gotta pull the trigger.
Throw in signing TJ Housh in FA and we're off & running.
The only exception with the #21 pick to consider whould be if the RB's Moreno or Wells are on the board I could see Reid considering both guys although his track record says go RB in rd's 3 & later.
Just give me ONE before I go!

I'd like to see us go after playmakers J. I thought Justice played pretty good at RT last preseason. It would be sweet if we could somehow land Hous in FA. I don't think Cinncy can sign him without Cinco going nuts.

I've thought all along that Justice should be a RT.Keep in mind that he started out as a LT at USC then moved to RT to protect Leinart's blind side.He was a disaster at LT and I blame the coaching staff for hanging him out to dry vs the giants. If the coaches feel Justice can start at RT I'm all for going after playmakers in the draft.Guys like Pettigrew,Moreno,McCoy,Wells, even Heyward-Bey all fit the bill.
First things first though, gotta get the O-line solidified because if McNabb's schuckin & duckin it won't matter who the WR's or RB's are.
