I'll be among the very pissed as well--for me, as for a lot of other fans, Dawk is my favorite all-time Eagle. Even at 90% of his best, he's better than most.

Thomas is a shell of his former pass blocking pro-bowler self. He never was and now is nowhere near even an adequate run-blocker. His decline opens up a gaping hole for Herremans who can outperform him with a broken leg. Dawk was a great one, emphasis on "was". Time to move on. Nowadays it is far more important for a S whether FS or SS to have good makeup speed than it is for the old style semi-LB bangers of old. The game has changed and without speed in the back end we can not match up with today's Os.
