I want to proclaim to the board that I am cancer free. I got my new PET scan results today and it is all gone. ALL gone. Praise God. I will have more to say later. Right now I am speechless.

Thank you all so much. Stage 3b lung cancer........to remission in seven months. Make no mistake, it has been a fight straight out of hell, but I can't believe that I could be here.......from there. You know? It didn't seem possible, or even worthy of dreaming about. After I got the news today I had to go to the floor where the patients go to get their chemo treatments, so that I could get my port flushed. While I was sitting there I started thinking about all of the steps along the way, all of the trials that I had been through to get to this point. There were time that I thought about quitting, and there were times I said, "God, I hope that what I am going thru is worth it.".

Well, it has been worth it. I know that this remission could end before long, but at the least I have earned some more time here and I am going to appreciate the hell out of it. I didn't know if I would EVER be cancer free, yet here I am. It feels so good.

As for the doctors, there is a reason why MD Anderson is the #1 cancer center in the country. They were awesome and I was blessed to be in their care.

That is truly great and amazing news! Your courage and unstinting will have been rewarded and you've given your buds here on EFO a 'feel good story' that tops anything Hollywood has to offer.

I have to add that, as a garden variety agnostic, I feel some envy for the power of 'faith' you guys that 'believe' can bring to bear in these life challenging situations. I don't know if there is a God but I do know that the power of positive thinking/believing can indeed be awesome.
