I hope you are right. But, there are rumblings about the Cowboys and Pitts. They want the next Jason Witten. And, you know Jerry is all about flash.

Cowboys are taking PItts if he is there at 10. Its a Jerry Jones type move. Honestly I wouldn't blame them. Giants are not taking at TE though. They just signed Rudolph and they have Engram. Baring a team trading in front of them, I think Denver or Maimi are the destination for Pitts. Outside chance Detroit. I am working on a mock draft now, I am thinking defense and a heavy defense draft. We really don't have any young players on defense. Best players are Slay, Cox, Graham. We really need a good quality CB or three, LB or three. DL I wouldn't be upset if we went there. Barnett is going to leave after this year. Sweat needs a contract. Cox is getting older, Graham is older. Hargrave is a decent big guy in the middle. I mean we really don't have any young building blocks on defense. Now on offense, you have Sanders, Goedert, Mailata, Dillard, possibly guys like Reagor,Hurts, Driscoll. In other words there are some players to work with. More are needed bu the defense is the greatest need.

Screw this. They finally had a pick that they couldn't screw up and they traded it away. This trade makes me sick.

i like it because it's less likely they think they're all in at 12.

I don't like it because Howie will fuck it up anyway.

Oh they could have screwed it up, in fact you know they would have screwed it up. They will screw up 12. The only saving grace is having 3 first next year, Lurie may come to senses and finally hire a personnel guy who knows personnel. If not they will screw up those first round picks.

we are Eagles fans, Wentz will probably fake an injury just so he doesn't play 75%
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. Still have no use for three first round next year when your needs are this year. This reeks of Howie saying wait till next year when I have all these picks and the whole league has their eyes on me. My guess is they use them all to trade up to get something they could get now.
Basically, I am not a believer in tanking so you 'might' be able to do something next year. NFL is significantly different from NBA in that regard. I would certainly be looking to use picks next year and or this year to get another pick in the bottom of the first or top of the second this year. They would still have plenty of ammo next year and I believe could be competitive this year
60- as for a pick they couldn't screw up - - there is no such thing in my mind and I believe you can get a difference maker anywhere. It is the scouting and most importantly the person deciding on the pick. Howie hasn't been stellar in that regard
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
                Hope is not a strategy

And I will add that I won't be surprised to see Howie pick a QB at 12 if one of the five are still there although I hope like hell all are gone before he picks

There just isn't any justiffication for it IMO. They alreay had 10 picks and it's not like they are all going to play or make the team. We were already in great shape for this draft by any capable GM.

I think it’s impossible to actually know how this trade is going to work out until we see the player they get at 12. If they get waddle or Smith at 12 I think we should all be happy with it because we probably would have been OK have they taken those guys at six about a month ago. I also think the Cowboys would pass on pits because it is malpractice to not get a left tackle to protect the guy you’re now paying $40 million a year. As much as Jerry loves a shiny new penny I just don’t see him drafting another offense of skill guy.
You know Darren if you'd have told me 10 years ago that someday I was going to solve the world's energy problems I'd have said your crazy.... now lets drop this big ball of oil out the window.

4 of those 10 picks are 224, 225, 234, 240. Nothing but chance taking there. I like a first and two seconds this year with two firsts and a second next year better than three first and a second next year

I'd like somebody to actually tell me what a rebuild is? It's not like the old days when you controlled players for their whole career. The only rebuild I see in the new NFL is findig a franchise QB.

They actually have 11 picks this year. An underrated part of this deal is they actually have a 4th round pick now. 4th round picks should contribute and in fact teams hit on starters in the 4th round all the time. As far as late round picks go, need I remind everyone that Kelce was a 6th round pick, Jalen Mills was a 7th round pick. No Super Bowl win without those two.

The more I think about this the more this is a stroke of genius by Howie. No combine this year. Limited participation in Pro days. They can't bring potential draft picks into the facility. That means they really can't determine the heart of a player, what makes them tick etc. Now they haven't been great at that the past few years but still that a huge part of the evaluation process. This year they are taking players almost solely on what they do on the field. Now that is great but there have been many a great college player who can't play in the Pro's. Just the reality of the situation. All teams are in the same situation. This team though is not winning anything this year, way too many holes and not nearly enough resources.

2021 is about determining if they have anything in Hurts (which I don't think they do), determining if the all the WR they drafted in the past few years if any of them can play. Contining to develop younger offensive lineman like Driscoll, MIalita and Dillard (among others) and getting a good amount of young pieces onto the defense.

I still hear everyone saying well at 12 we may be able to get Waddle or Smith etc. They are not taking a WR. They are going defense. They haven't addressed the defense with a high pick in several years. The big question is it going to corner, DE, or LB. I think if Parsons is there he has to be the pick. Our new defensive coordinators scheme is LB dependent. (Just look at Minny and Indy for that) so I could see Parson. But more than likely its going to be Surtain, or Horn, or Farley at 12. If they stay at 12.

I don't know about genius, but we do need a QB so it could work out next year. It softens the blowif Miami sucks this year but Miami is a good team.
