- NE's 2nd most important offensive player goes down in the closing minutes of the ACCG and is a non factor in the SB.
- NY puts the ball on the ground 3 times and loses it zero times
- With a closing drive that would either run out the clock (NY had only 1 TO) or a score put the the game out of reach, reliable NE receivers drop 1st down catches on 2 successive plays forcing a punt
- Eli throws another chuck and duck and Maningham miraculously catches it and gets 2 feet down

I've said for awhile the Eagles should have played in at least 3 Super Bowls under Andy Reid (after the 2002, 2004, and 2008 seasons; the Brian Westbrook injury in the last game of the 2003 season was a legitimate excuse for them to not make it that year). It's possible they don't win any of those games, but getting there 3 times is a hell of a lot more impressive than getting there only once. IMO, it's pretty damning of Andy Reid that the Eagles only appeared in the Super Bowl in one of those 3 years, especially considering the NFC was the weaker conference during the Eagles' peak years. The Eagles should have never lost to Tampa Bay in 2002 or to Arizona in 2008.

I think the 2003 Panthers were a better team than the 2008 Cardinals, and I think the 2003 Eagles, without Brian Westbrook, were an inferior team to the 2008 Eagles. Also keep in mind the Eagles needed a minor miracle just to beat Green Bay in the 2003 playoffs.

But once we got past GB, it shouldve been smooth sailing. The Panthers were a bunch of nobodies and Steve Smith.

Also, if you're gonna look at it that way, the Eagles needed a minor miracle just to get in the playoffs in 2008.
