  • Demarco Murray....

    .....coming to Philly tomorrow.

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...y-on-thursday/

DeMarco Murray is making a free agent visit.

And he’s making that visit to Philadelphia.

The Eagles will meet with Murray on Thursday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.

Murray is PFT’s top-rated unsigned free agent. Perhaps no other free agent has had quite as much intrigue swirling about his decision-making process.

And now, Murray is headed to see the Eagles, who have had quite the excitement-filled offseason. Their pursuit of Murray would not have been conceivable two weeks ago.

But things change quickly in the NFL.

And lately, the Eagles have always seemed to be right in the thick of that change.

    I am good either way.

Murray, Matthews, Sproles and Polk would be spooky. Fresh legs all game long, including 3 thumpers that hit the hole quickly.
You know Darren if you'd have told me 10 years ago that someday I was going to solve the world's energy problems I'd have said your crazy.... now lets drop this big ball of oil out the window.

My concern is money and years - for age and previous workload. I would be okay with a college kid.

As Chip said, there is a budget and if he thinks he can fit Murray and fill needs, so be it.

        I'm good either way too.

While it's easy to say, "if you wouldn't pay McCoy, why would you pay Murray?"

The answer is ... you trade McCoy for D help, and then sign a FA RB. So in essence, you could keep McCoy .. or you could have Alonso and Murray.

Still totally confused by this offseason. I see no way how our team is better next year. Are we tanking for next year?

Well, if they sign Murray, rb is a toss-up, qb is an upgrade given health (and I recognize that's a big given), defense is slightly better w addition of maxwell and Alonso. WR and OL weaker, but there is still time.

Love to see Murray, not sure why they signed Matthews if Murray was on the radar.
Heard that Murray actually called Chip to arrange this?

But hey if they can work it out, I would be starting to feel a bit better about the off season............ as soon as WR was addressed.

If Murray signs on, Polk will be traded during draft ala Bryce Brown

Watching the recap from yesterday on the NFL Network and listening to these retards talk about how different the running game in Philly is from Dallas. Murray will be axed to run in space and make moves in Philly. What running back in the history of the NFL would not envy the chance to be in space as opposed to thumping his way through an entire defense ? He might not juke everyone, but he has a mean stiff arm the power to run through hits.

We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

It makes sense to add Murray after signing Matthews in the hopes that one of them will be available while the other is hurt.

Murray makes a ton of sense. If chip continues to run the jet offense he if going to need two starting backs. Get mathews and Murray 250 carries each 100 carries for Sproles and use Sproles more as a receiver in space. We are going to run the ball a lot more next especally with Sanchez at Qb.
Were from Philly F in Philly no one likes us we DON'T CARE!

Mathews contract wasn't too large, so this is possible

Would 3 years at 20 mil be too much fir Murray?

I know he wants 8 mil a year, but I just can't see that happening here

I would be more worried about chemistry than the salary cap. To be honest.

Matthews money isn't crazy. He and Sproles are getting back up money.

The only problem I see is that this contract really must be frontloaded to keep Dallas out of it caprice. The other problem is that Oakland will double whatever we offer him and nobody turns that kind of money down.

Murray is a bear to bring down. Imagine how effective he would be late in games when the defense is gassed from the fast pace. Sign him and get a physical WR and our redzone issues should go away. Even with the reduction in talent we've seen on O this would be a massive improvement over last year.

                              Interesting...

                              http://espn.go.com/blog/dallas/cowbo...an-a-bluff-now

IRVING, Texas -- If the Philadelphia Eagles are just trying to drive up the price of DeMarco Murray for the Dallas Cowboys, they are putting on a great bluff.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Murray will fly to Philadelphia on Thursday to meet with the Eagles, who signed Ryan Mathews on Thursday and already have Pro Bowler Darren Sproles on the roster.

Murray started Wednesday off by calling Eagles coach Chip Kelly. When the Eagles introduced Sam Bradford, the quarterback said he had been lobbying his former Oklahoma roommate and teammate to come with him to Philadelphia.

Now by Wednesday night, comes word of Murray’s impending flight to the Cowboys’ NFC East rival after the Cowboys and Murray's agent spent at least part of the day negotiating.

As much as adding a third running back to the mix wouldn’t seem to make a ton of sense, the Eagles are apparently serious about adding Murray, and they were the only NFC East team he didn’t run for 100 yards against in 2014.

The Eagles traded LeSean McCoy to Buffalo in part because they didn’t want to pay him. Now they’re going to pay a third running back? How would it work?

Chip Kelly is an offensive mastermind (ahem) so if anybody can figure it out, he can. Maybe he will run the single wing if Bradford gets hurt again.

Maybe it’s all just a massive game of posturing, but the threat of seeing the NFL’s leading rusher get ready for a plane ride to a rival is a lot different than seeing him linked to teams like the Oakland Raiders and Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Cowboys have held firm in their stance on Murray.

There is no other running back on the market that can do what Murray can do. Sources said Tuesday C.J. Spiller and Darren McFadden would not be options. There is always the possibility of Adrian Peterson even if it still seems far-fetched and highly expensive. And then there is the draft, which is running back heavy.

If Murray ends up with the Eagles, it would make a juicy rivalry even juicier.
